Cathy served as the Florida Orchestra Association District 18 Chairman for the greater Naples/Ft. Myers area from 1992-2000. She has also been invited to conduct Florida area county festivals as well as out of state
All-State Festivals. From 1999-2001, Cathy was music director of the Sinfonietta Youth Orchestra in Fort Myers.
Cathy Pflieger is a former resident of New York State. She attended Ithaca College and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia. She began her teaching career with the choral program at West Canada Valley Central in New York State in 1984. In 1985, she moved to Bonita Springs, Florida, and continued her career as a music educator for the chorus and orchestra programs in the Collier County Public Schools for over 30 years. Cathy recently retired from Oakridge Middle School where she had taught for the past 10 years.
Cathy spent much of her performing career as a violinist and as a member of the Symphony of Southwest Florida since 1985. Presently, Cathy is a violin instructor for the MusicScores Pre-K Literacy/Violin Program in Naples.
In addition to her teaching, Cathy maintains a respected role as a freelance violinist and also performs regularly with the Punta Gorda Symphony and the Naples Community Orchestra.
